I had such a great experience with Felix, who came by to help with my peach tree, and some vines I had on my gate. He carefully repositioned a low branch that needed some attention and also trimmed the top, which had started growing a little too tall and into the neighbor’s yard. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I’d definitely recommend him, and made my first experience with this service incredible!

Winter can be brutal in the Windy City, so it’s important to tackle your lawn care and landscaping tasks during the months when the weather permits it. Follow this seasonal landscaping plan, and you’ll have the yard you want.
Spring
- Lawn Care: Mowing season resumes in April.
- Planting: Install shrubs, trees and perennials. Annuals should wait until after Mother’s Day.
- Mulch: Add new mulch to spruce up gardens.
- Irrigation: If you don’t already have one, now is a good time to install an irrigation system to avoid time-consuming manual watering come summer.
- Hardscaping: Install that paver patio or stamped concrete patio you’ve wanted. Spring, summer, and fall are the perfect time for hardscaping.
- Fencing: Installing a fence is easier when the temperature is 50 degrees or higher.
- Landscape Lighting: Install some downlights to highlight your natural stone garden walls.
- Shrub Pruning: Prune in early spring to encourage new growth.
Summer
- Lawn Care: Weekly mowing keeps your lawn looking neat but is also good for its health.
- Irrigation: Water your landscaping well during the hot summer months.
- Fencing: This is a great season for installing, repairing, and painting or staining fences.
- Landscape Lighting: Installation or maintenance.
Fall
- Lawn Care: Mowing season wraps up in November.
- Leaf Cleanup: Rake, blow, or bag your leaves, or hire a local leaf removal crew.
- Planting: Plant bulbs now to bloom in the spring.
- Mulch: Insulate your plant’s roots by adding mulch.
- Irrigation: To prevent burst pipes, winterize your sprinkler systems before temps dip below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Hardscaping: Install stamped concrete projects until late October, until temperatures dip below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Note: Concrete needs 20 days to cure properly at minimum temperatures of 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Landscape Lighting: Add until late September or before the ground freezes.
- Fencing: Fall is still a great time to install a privacy fence.

- Shrub Pruning: Late winter or early spring.
