Irvine's Easiest Landscaping
Based in Southern California's Orange County, the city of Irvine is home to over 280,000 people. It's home to the headquarters of several recognizable brands, including Taco Bell, LA Fitness, In-N-Out Burger, and Blizzard Entertainment. The city is also home to the University of California, University of Southern California, and Pepperdine.
With so many college campuses, it's not surprising to find beautiful attractions such as Orange County Great Park. The park is a decommissioned air-force base transformed into a public space. Its signature attraction is a hot-air balloon ride. The park also features a farmers market, athletic fields, and a skating rink.
The city is also a haven for nature lovers. Crystal Cove State Park encompasses miles of Pacific coast with inland canyons and historic beach houses. Surfers will enjoy The Wedge, a narrow peninsula of beach named for its shape. Its topography produces waves up to 30 feet high, making it a destination for anyone serious about surfing.
The city is also home to the Lyon Air Museum. Aviation aficionados will love its World War II era military aircraft. The site also features rare automobiles and memorabilia. Families will love the Pretend City Children's Museum. This imaginary town offers 17 interactive exhibits to provide hands-on learning for kids.
People of all ages will love the Orange County Zoo. This 8-acre facility specializes in animals indigenous to the American Southwest.
People here take pride in the city's heritage. The region was first home to the Gabrieleno people who arrived over 2,000 years ago. Spanish explorer Gaspar de Portola visited in 1769 and established forts, missions, and ranches. When Mexico won its independence from Spain, it took control of the area. After the Mexican American War, the US took over and the land's owner, James Irvine II incorporated it into the Irvine Company. After the University of Southern California purchased 1,500 acres, the Irvine Company drew up plans for a city of over 50,000 people. The town of Irvine has been growing ever since.
