Easy Landscaping in Louisville
Louisville is one of the oldest cities west of the Appalachian Mountains. Founded in 1778 by George Rogers Clark, the city takes its name from King Louis XVI of France. Today, Louisville offers locals a wide range of rich entertainment, history, and tradition.
Have you had a chance to check out the famous Kentucky Derby Museum? Since 1875, Louisville has hosted the annual Kentucky Derby race, known as the "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports." Three-year-old thoroughbreds battle for first place as they race around Churchill Downs' 1 1/4 mile track. If you can't make it to the race, let your family experience the excitement at the Kentucky Derby Museum. The museum has a 360-degree theater that puts you in the middle of the action. You'll also learn about what goes into the breeding and training of a young racehorse and its journey after entering the Kentucky Derby.
Louisville Waterfront Park is yet another charming location for locals to enjoy. The park is home to the grand Big Four Bridge. Built as a railroad bridge in 1895, it averages more than 1.5 million visits per year. The Big Four Bridge has LED lights that wrap the bridge in vibrant colors, highlighting the structure's beauty and strength. Families can also check out the Children's Play Area and the Adventure Playground & Splash Park. The water play area has fun water cannons, spray misters, and colorful fish sculptures that spray water from their mouths. The park is accessible, with picnic areas, public art, and watersport activities.
Finally, visit the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, where they make the most popular bat in major league baseball. Experience an award-winning factory tour and admire the world's biggest baseball bat, stretching 120 feet into the air. Enjoy the factory production line and watch steps in the bat-making process you've never seen before. At the end of your tour, you'll receive a free miniature souvenir bat.
Grab your baseball hats, book your tickets, and plan your day trip. If you can find the time. Are landscaping projects keeping you from having fun? LawnStarter is here to help.
