Better Landscaping in Atlanta
The capital and most populated city of Georgia, Atlanta is the 37th most populous city in the nation. The ninth-largest metropolitan area in the United States, it serves as the cultural and economic hub. Situated among the foothills of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, Atlanta has one of the highest elevations of cities east of the Mississippi River. Founded as the final spot of a major state-sponsored railroad, it soon became the meeting point of several railroads, leading to rapid growth. The city's name comes from the Western and Atlantic Railroad's local depot, emphasizing its reputation as a major transportation hub.
Atlanta nearly burned to the ground during the Civil War during General William T. Sherman's March to the Sea. Raising itself from the ashes, Atlanta proved to be a strong force and grabbed its title as the "New South." During the Civil Rights Movement of the 50s and 60s, Atlanta became the core organizing center. The city continues to be a transportation hub, thanks to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world's busiest airport.
Atlanta also offers jobs in other industries, including aerospace, logistics, professional and business services, medical care, and information technology. Known for its dense tree coverage, Atlanta has received the nickname "the city in a forest." In 1996, the city hosted the Summer Olympic Games, leading to a revival of many neighborhoods and an intense alteration of the politics, aesthetics, and culture. They house the Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Ballet, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, and the Alliance Theatre. Also playing a major role in the music scene, Atlanta is a major hub for a variety of music genres. The city holds more festivals than any other city in the Southeast.
One popular spot for locals and tourists is the Georgia Aquarium, the world's largest indoor aquarium. The sports scene is also prevalent with the Atlanta Braves, Hawks, Falcons, and Atlanta United FC.
