As stated many moons ago, the restrictions are permanent with a capital "P". Our consumption mouths have written checks our wallets can't cash. We have turned into locusts turning the landscapes we visit into wastelands. At some point the earth will not sustain our abuses. All for some green grass

County Ordinance requires that grass be maintained at a height of less than 12”, if the tall grass is within 100 feet of any occupied residential or non residential structure and the property has been previously developed. Does not apply to properties that have never been developed or improved on

1. Number one is always have a plan based on how you want your outdoor area to make you feel, what functional purposes will it have and what image do you want to project. Then have create a timeline and budget to go on.

2. Once you have a plan, the next step is to determine the drainage. Make certain that you have drainage away from the house and that it goes where you wish. Later you can consider things like rainwater collection and retention.

3. Just as with a garden, the lawn begins with good soil. The better the soil, the better the greenery. You may want to start at square one and remove the old, dead grass and depleted soil. Either rework and restore the soil or replace it. Then have a newlawn put in.

4. Use sustainable, resistant and easily maintainable walks, patios, furnishings, etc.

5. An easy and inexpensive way to create a unique and interesting landscape is to build mounds of soil. These can just be rounded off mounds or defined by stone walls, or what ever. But having a variation in elevations can give depth and interest to a yard.
