Are there watering restrictions in Charlotte, NC?
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -
The City of Charlotte will impose voluntary water restrictions Tuesday, WBTV has learned.
Jennifer Frost, a spokesperson for Charlotte Water, confirmed that the city will issue a news release Tuesday morning asking residents to conserve water.
The last time Charlotte asked customers to cut down on water usage was July, 2015, when drought indicators worsened for the Catawba River Basin.
That action was taken when the Catawba-Wateree Drought Management Advisory Group (DMAG) said the area had reached drought stage 1 or "moderate drought." Stage 1 triggers "low-inflow protocols" in area lakes and dams and voluntary water restrictions from municipalities.
Last year, cities asked water customers to limit landscape watering and car washing among other measures.
The October 1, 2016 DMAG report for the Catawba-Wateree basin showed Stage 0 or "abnormally dry" conditions, one level below "normal" but not severe enough to trigger restrictions. The November report had not been posted to the Duke Energy website as of Monday night.

"I've had this service going on two years now. There very professional and you really don't even know there here Until you notice your lawn care is done. I have had them cut bushes to. All you have to do is put in the order no problem. John is not afraid to ask questions to make sure the job is done right. If something comes up like rain he notifies you in a timely matter if they have to come back to it. Which is understandable because stuff happens like weather. He also is open to suggestions because we cut our grass to much last year and changed up the schedule which I'm glad they did."

"Marco did great however I am disappointed in the customer service of LawnStarter. The yard did not need to be mowed, simply cleaned up. When I called to ask about this it was explained that because I received an email stating the yard would be mowed, nothing could be done. I understand that it is on me for not reading the entire email. However I'm disappointed in the conversation with the LawnStarter Rep. Because the grass very obviously didn't need to be mowed I question why this service was done and charged for. I have cancelled our account with LawnStarter. The crew has always done great work but we just don't need any services for the remainder of the season. We will shop around come spring time."
